BREAKING: Congress Unleashes Seven Impeachment Articles as Trump’s Legal Peril Deepens.baongoc

Washington is once again on edge. In a dramatic 24-hour span, Congress introduced seven articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, even as multiple criminal investigations continue to accelerate—reviving the once-unthinkable prospect of real legal consequences for a sitting president. Lawmakers behind the move say the message is simple and timeless: no one, not even the president, is above the law.

A Senate Showdown Looms

As 2025 nears its end, Trump’s second term is engulfed in an unprecedented crisis of legitimacy. The year began with relatively solid approval ratings, but that political capital has steadily eroded. Sweeping tariffs, sharp government cutbacks, hardline immigration actions, and an aggressive expansion of executive authority have ignited backlash across party lines. Critics argue the administration has pushed—and in some cases crossed—constitutional boundaries.

Now, pressure to cut Trump’s presidency short is converging from three distinct directions.

Front One: Impeachment

At the center is impeachment itself. Several House resolutions are advancing, including one containing seven articles that accuse Trump of obstruction of justice, abuse of power, corruption, unconstitutional war-making, and even tyranny—language rarely seen in modern congressional filings. The resolution explicitly calls for his removal from office.

A separate impeachment effort zeroes in on U.S. airstrikes against Iran carried out without congressional approval, alleging that Trump unlawfully seized Congress’s exclusive authority to declare war.

Front Two: The 25th Amendment

The second pressure point is the 25th Amendment, which allows for removal if a president is deemed unfit to serve. While widely viewed as politically unlikely—given Trump’s loyal cabinet—the idea has moved into the national conversation. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker publicly urged its consideration, accusing Trump of authoritarian tendencies and questioning his mental fitness for office.

Front Three: Public Pressure to Resign

The third force is public outrage. Activist groups claim nearly one million signatures have been gathered demanding Trump’s resignation, as protests, viral campaigns, and relentless media scrutiny spread nationwide. The movement has intensified calls for accountability and kept the crisis firmly in the public eye.

A Presidency Under Siege

Despite the mounting pressure, immediate removal remains unlikely due to the hard political math in Congress, particularly in the Senate. Still, the consequences are undeniable. Trump’s presidency is now shadowed by a rolling constitutional crisis—one that leaves his authority constantly questioned and the nation bracing for further upheaval as it heads into 2026.

Whether this moment ends in acquittal, resignation, or something more dramatic, one thing is clear: American politics has entered yet another chapter of historic uncertainty.

Trump Warns ‘Sick’ South American Leader, Repeats Claim ‘We Need Greenland’ for National Security

President Donald Trump on Sunday issued stark warnings about the political future of Colombian President Gustavo Petro and once again reaffirmed his interest in annexing Greenland, citing U.S. national security concerns.

Speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump initially addressed questions surrounding the U.S. military operation in Caracas that led to the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, as well as Venezuela’s future. He then shifted his focus to another South American nation.

“Colombia is also very sick, run by a sick man who likes to produce cocaine and sell it to the United States. And he won’t be doing that for very long. I’m telling you that,” Trump said.

When asked directly whether the United States would conduct a military operation in Colombia, Trump replied:
“That sounds good to me.”

He later turned his attention to Greenland, once again expressing interest in acquiring the Danish territory.

“We need Greenland for national security reasons, and Denmark cannot provide that,” Trump said.
“We need Greenland for national security. Its location is very strategic,” he added.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen strongly condemned Trump’s remarks, urging him to stop what she described as baseless threats against a close ally.

“The Kingdom of Denmark—and therefore Greenland—is a member of NATO and is protected by the Alliance’s security guarantees,” Frederiksen said in a statement.
“We have a defense agreement between the Kingdom and the United States that grants the U.S. extensive access to Greenland. And the Kingdom has made substantial investments in Arctic security.”

“I therefore strongly urge the United States to cease threats against a historically close ally and against another country and its people, who have made it very clear that they are not for sale,” she added.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and Denmark’s ambassador to the United States, Jesper Møller Sørensen, all voiced strong support for Danish sovereignty over Greenland following Trump’s remarks, emphasizing that Greenland’s future must be determined by Greenland and Denmark alone.

Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen condemned Trump’s comments as deeply disrespectful in a statement posted on Facebook.

“Our country is not an object of great-power theatrics. We are a people. A land. And a democracy. This must be respected—especially by close and loyal friends,” Nielsen wrote.

“Threats, pressure, and talk of annexation should not exist among friends,” he added.
“That is not how one speaks to a people who have repeatedly demonstrated responsibility, stability, and loyalty. Enough is enough.”
