For more than two years, Prince William has barely been in contact with his younger brother, Prince Harry. The feud between the two princes has only grown deeper following the Sussexes’ string of high-profile projects — from Harry’s explosive memoir to headline-grabbing interviews and the Netflix documentary series.

The revelations the Sussexes made about the inner workings of the royal family have left William with zero trust, and no desire to reopen communication.

“The real problem is Meghan,” royal author Ingrid Seward told Fox News. “She is disliked by many monarchy supporters in Britain because they believe she has damaged the royal family. Even in America, many people are unhappy with the way Meghan has publicly clashed with both her in-laws and her own biological family.”

The former Suits actress has faced heavy criticism for cutting off contact with her father, Thomas Markle Sr., right before her wedding. The situation worsened after he suffered a stroke in 2022. To this day, he has never met his grandchildren, and Harry has never met his father-in-law.

“It’s hard to believe that Meghan’s children have never met their grandfather. In both America and Britain, that is seen as very strange and has left a black mark on her image,” Seward added.

Meanwhile, multiple sources have told People magazine that William and Harry are still firmly on “separate paths.” Royal author Robert Lacey, who wrote Battle of Brothers, believes “nothing will change until Harry takes the initiative to apologise.” Messages and calls from Harry to William have reportedly gone unanswered.

Seward stressed that William has “stood firm” in keeping his distance from Harry and Meghan. For his part, Harry believes William was “unpleasant” toward Meghan while she was still living within the royal family. “Once that level of resentment exists, reconciliation becomes almost impossible. At least for now, I see no signs of any healing,” the royal expert concluded.
